As I sit here on this lovely day my mind keeps running astray.
I dream of the beauty of the land, the lakes and rivers and the sand.
Then I look outside and see the red sky, and dark smoke and think
This is really no joke.
My eyes begin to swell with tears, don’t tell me we have no fears.
Pollution is rampant, almost everywhere we look.
If this keeps up there won’t even be a trout brook.
The air we breath and the water we drink rely on the trees’ green leaves.
If we continue to strip the rain forests, and spread poisonous chemicals into the air and water, we will have nothing left but grieves.
As I sit here on this lovely day, I wonder how long I will be able to stay?
I must say in all fairness to the Chairman of Ford Motor Company, William Clay Ford Jr, that I think he is very sincere about changing the Rouge around and making it more environmentally friendly, as we can see by the wonderful job that was done on the roof (grass) of the new and improved truck assembly plant. The planting of many more trees has also helped absorb some of the pollution.........
